Zovirax cream contains aciclovir, an antiviral agent that interferes with the replication of the virus, reducing its severity and speeding up the healing process.
Zovirax is generally safe. If you suspect that there is an allergic reaction such as difficulty while breathing; rash; hives; itching; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face, call to emergency. Other less serious side effects occur more likely. Continue using Zovirax and talk to your doctor if you experience itching, stinging, burning, or a rash. These side effects should resolve quickly.
